Quirky is the new Sexy

July 16, 2010

Hi everyone,
I am honored to announce that I’ll be interviewed by the fabulous Caroline Donahue’s podcast next Tuesday. Caroline Donahue, founder of Remabulous Coaching, interviews original and fabulous Business owners to talk about the Quirk Behind the Work and how they discovered success through embracing who they really are. What an awesome thing to be recognized for? I used to think that quirks were bad, negative things that would make me strange and an unaccepted. I have spent a lot of time trying to keep them quiet, especially to those I don’t know. Who would have known that one day my eccentric characteristics would get me here? Want to know any of my other quirks? I drive with one leg bent and one straight. I like dressing up my dog in ridiculous outfits just to take pictures of him, I also take pictures of my feet everywhere, I love puns, even the bad ones, and I can’t go more than two days without yoga.

Did you know that quirks are sexy?

Your quirks are what define you and make you special. Some may be good and some may be a bit strange and that is great. If we were all normal, that wouldn’t be fun. Sometimes it’s the very thing that makes us a little odd that frees us and opens doors for creativity and growth. Are there any quirky parts of you that you’ve been hiding? Have you ever wanted to say or do something because you know it will feel good and and your fear stops you? How about taking one of those out for a spin? Try ‘flaunting’ something small at first to get started. Who knows who may see you and think that it’s pretty hot. The most appealing thing we can do on this planet is be 100% ourselves. Then we have the best chance of welcoming in the right situations into our lives. What’s the worst that can happen? A little embarrassment. I can’t think of one person who hasn’t been there before.

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
